NBC using iTunes to boost TV ratings

NBC came up with something quite interesting... in their quest to find audiences in 25-35 year olds, they came up with Conviction, and decided to put FOR FREE on iTunes the pilot of this new series.

The series itself premiers on March 3rd on NBC, but the pilot has been available in iTunes since Feb 21st. what cable TV vendor can match that?

and what about internationally? me disculpa TVA, y lo siento mucho SKY.. you guys are losing!

But is hard to miss the irony here: exactly the major TV networks that could have felt its business model threatened by iTunes selling content on demand, are willing to use it to defend themselves. it might be a smart transformation for NBC.
